Balloon financing allows you to have low payments with a large final payment. Most people can not make the final payment and end up getting rid of the car before the balloon payment is due. Just know that if you do get rid of the vehicle, you have not been paying on the principle as much so you will still owe alot more than standard financing. If balloon financing is the only way you can get into the vehicle because of the cheaper payments, then you are buying more car than you can afford. This is the same problem you are seeing in the housing crisis. A general rule is pay now or pay later.

It's a dark and stormy night. You are on a flight over war torn Europe flying inside a Lancaster Bomber. It's cold. Damned cold.
You're sitting crouched in a bomb bay, with a 240 pounder between your legs. You're hand reaches forward for the release…
If you were a bomber – you'd wear a bomber jacket. That had to be tight at the waist, so it didn't tangle with your bomb-drop gear or you and the bomb would be landing in the same place.
The same idea was adopted by the biker jacket – you definitely don't want belt-buckles or parts to get trapped when you are barrelling down a dusty road.
In both cases, they were made of whatever material was considered practicable for their purpose. The bomber jacket was always leather and had some padding, to help retain heat.
Original biker jackets were made of heavy denim – coz you might take a tumble from your bike at speed.
Somewhere down the road (think James Dean), the bikers jacket material changed to leather, coz it had suddenly got a bit of Hollywood-sponsored street cred.
Hope this helps

I’m a BIG guy, and I ride a BIG Chopper but this is beyond what I thought possible on a cycle over 800lbs. Anyone who thinks that all there is to riding is speed should watch this again, and again… and again. This cop is a true rider. Shit!
