“I was 16 then USSR felt apart. It was pure crap: colored plastic pens and bubble gum were a miracle, quality clothing didn’t exist, I ate bananas like 5 times total, people were brainswashed to level I can call “idiocy”. “Free” housing for people in “special” cities was paid by other people – like my mother and grandparents who never got any “free” housing. Education was very specific – there was a joke “whatever you learn in USSR – you’ll be a rocket engineer in the end”. Once I got “D”/2 because I couldn’t remember number of current summit of Communist party (I was “golden medal” student – never got anything below B). “Free” medicine was crappy as well. Just imagine how it feels then your tooth is being drilled without anesthesia. I had few procedures – I guess those medics trained on German prisoners of war or in GULAG camps. Those who like that period were brainwashed – or were a part of corruption which surrounded those ineffective “free” schemes which destroyed the country in…”
