The advantage of having engagement photos with your wedding photographer is simple… you get to know what it is like to be in front of the camera. It builds a trust and relationship that is different than sitting and chatting in a showroom. … I am a beach wedding girl. Some of my favorite beach weddings had lounging couches, bon fires, and perfect breeze that made the day seem so magical. I really think there is a mood that is captured in a beach wedding that is missed …

    Most professional photographers use both.
Usually one photographer stands way back on the isle and uses a tripod with long exposures these can look yellow and soft, they can also use a filter to make the lights above criss cross over you or the long streams of sun coming in.
Then there is an assistant who sometimes gets up in the altar and shoots from the front to get close ups of the ring.
No photographer recreates any thing unless he missed the kiss. Then he will take a close up of you kissing on the altar just to be sure.

It all depends on the lighting of the place.
Talk to your photographer and ask about it, if he/she is any good they will work with you.

A friend of mine goes to fairs and concerts and sports events very early and snaps pictures of groups and individuals when they arrive.
He sets up a tent and works with strobes and a poster of he event as background. His fiancee takes data of the customers.
U can also go to conventions and balls and of course weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and school events. Even the playhouse and fancy holiday dinner parties at condos.
U will need a clearance from the organizers.
Open a website and show ur best photos as reference.
Sell the snapshots at a low price and print ur business name and phone # on the back for repeat business.
U can do commercial work like posters, business cards and post cards. Make shots of inventories and fleets.
There is a lot of businesses who could use a good photographer. Most are flight by nights. U must return to ur customers to update.

It all really depends on the photographers fee schedule. He could charge by the hour, hour and materials or just by the photo that you buy. Call several and ask.
