Do you have a real estate agent? They should be able to offer some suggestions for you. Maybe you mortgage lender could recommend an insurance company too.
You could contact the mainstream insurance companies like Geico or State Farm (do a web search for their websites), they offer homeowners insurance. You might even be able to get a quote by filling out your information online, if not, just get their phone number off the website and give them a call. If this is your first time, you might want to get a few different quotes. It's similar to automobile insurance, you have a deductible and a coverage amount. They will give you a quote on standard policy amounts but you can change those amounts (higher or lower) if you want to. The amount to rebuild will be X amount of dollars, the amount to replace your contents….well you will need to estimate that. It's not as confusing as you might think and most of the time, if you let them know it's your first home purchase, they explain everything really well. Hope this helps…..

on the subject of major errors. There are so many factors that can drive climate, all kinds of greenhouse gasses, all kinds of plants, all kinds of industry, all kinds of solar activity. At the very most CO2 can account for 10% of climate change, which is dominated by the Sun. ANYONE can go do an internet search & find that the global temperature has dropped by 2 degrees C in the last decade despite a 5% rise in CO2 & reach the INEVIATABLE conclusion that CO2 does NOT drive climate.

Yes I totally agree with you video…… i am totally frustrated by the rising costs of insurance and I will never get back what i put into auto insurance. Thats what I like abuot life insurance at least.

The car affects the premium. New cars are worth more than cars several years old, so they cost more than older ones. High priced cars cost more because the potential loss is much greater than for that of lower priced cars. Sports cars cost more because they're supposed to have more accidents. I'm not sure that's true, but that's what the people who set the rates think. Also, cars that are stolen alot have high premiums. You also affect the premium. Do you have a good driving record? That lowers premiums somewhat. If you're middle aged or older, your premiums are usually lower because older people are considered safer drivers than young ones. I'm not sure that's true, but again, that's what the people who set the rates think!

Depending on the sport and where you live, most sports programs have insurance build into the registration fees though that's sports association.

Your best bet is to have you parents talk to an insurance broker in your area. Policies for a minor are hit or miss depending on where you live. In most cases a 14 year old wouldn't be able to buy a poilicy on their own (16 is often the starting point) and you would have to have you parents buy it for you.

Unless it's an extreme sport or fairly dangerous, it's probably more health insurance you're looking for.

Yes, but only if you set your phone to digital roaming. Meaning you could pay anywhere from ten cents to a dollar extra per minute for using their service.

Certain companies do have contracts with each other, for instance AT&T with Cingular, Sprint with Nextel, but not with Verizon.

Certain towers are shared between companies, so more than one company might be on the tower. If Sprint and Verizon share that tower, then yes, you will have service, no problem.

However, you can't just pick up Verizon without paying extra. Double check that it's not automatically charging you to roam to other towers. The case could be that the signal from the Sprint tower in the next city over is just enough to give you service. Full bar service would indicate that you're roaming or that there's another sprint tower nearby.
